Re-switch
During these times, when global warming is slowly but surely creeping up to kick us in the butt, it's clear that we all have to do our part. Whether it's consuming less meat or recycling more. Everyone can do something.
That's why smord.store has started this new initiative, to give new life to your old switches. Many of us in the hobby have filled our drawers with keyboard parts which aren't used anymore. We often just toss away those de-soldered switches, or buy the new "smoother and better" switch, leaving our old ones behind to collect dust.
How does the re-switch initiative work?
You fill in the google form linked here, informing me about the name of the switch, how old they are, how much they've been used and if they've been de-soldered or not. Along with how much you'd like to get paid for the switches. After that, I read thru the form, and give you a price. If the price works for you and we have a deal, then the switches should be packaged, and shipped out to me. After that, I check if the condition is as described. If they are, you get that paycheck $$$.
The switches are then cleaned, and prepared to be listed for sale here on the website where someone else can buy them, and that way, they get a new life. And most important of all... Mother earth is happy.
Why is this good?
- Your switches get to be used again. Someone new who might need them more can buy them.
- No need for annoying second hand market listings and long conversations with strangers.
- You get paid :)
